Safety

Safety at Danzivo

Effective Date: 11 August 2026

At Danzivo, we're committed to helping create a welcoming, respectful and safe community for everyone who loves social dancing.

Whether you're attending your first social, meeting a practice partner, booking a lesson or organising an event, we encourage all members to make safety a priority.

Meeting Someone for the First Time

If you're meeting another member through Danzivo, we recommend that you:

  • Meet in a public location, such as a dance studio or café.
  • Attend organised dance events whenever possible.
  • Let a friend or family member know where you'll be.
  • Arrange your own transport to and from the venue.
  • Trust your instincts. If something doesn't feel right, leave the situation.

You should never feel pressured to continue a conversation, lesson or practice session if you are uncomfortable.

Protect Your Personal Information

Please be mindful of the information you share online.

We recommend that you:

  • Avoid sharing sensitive personal information publicly.
  • Be cautious when sharing your home address or workplace.
  • Use Danzivo's communication features where available before sharing personal contact details.
  • Report suspicious behaviour immediately.

Teachers, Studios and Event Organisers

Professional members help create safe dance environments.

We encourage teachers, studios and organisers to:

  • Maintain respectful and inclusive spaces.
  • Clearly communicate event expectations.
  • Respond professionally to enquiries.
  • Address inappropriate behaviour promptly.
  • Promote a culture of mutual respect.

Report Unsafe Behaviour

If you experience behaviour that makes you feel unsafe, uncomfortable or violates our Community Guidelines, please report it to us.

Examples include:

  • Harassment
  • Bullying
  • Discrimination
  • Fake profiles
  • Fraud or scams
  • Inappropriate messages
  • Threatening behaviour
  • Unwanted physical contact
  • Misleading business listings

Every report is reviewed carefully by the Danzivo team.

If you believe you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services immediately.
